Coast Guard seizes smuggled cosmetics in Narayanganj

The Bangladesh Coast Guard (BCG) has seized a large quantity of smuggled cosmetics from Fatullah launch ghat in Narayanganj district.

Acting on secret information, a 9-member commando team led by Lieutenant Ruhul Munjur of BCG Station Pagla conducted a special operation in the Fatullah launch ghat area on November 27, 2023, at around 10:15 PM.

During the operation, the team discovered five bags containing a variety of Indian cosmetics, including face wash, cream, body lotion, soap, oil, chocolate, and shampoo. The items were found abandoned in the area.

The seized cosmetics include: 898 pieces of face wash, 275 pieces of cream, 115 pieces of body lotion, 133 pieces of soap, 110 pieces of oil, 1,210 pieces of chocolate, 2 pieces of shampoo, The seized cosmetics were handed over to Fatullah police station for further legal action.

The Bangladesh Coast Guard is the maritime law enforcement agency of Bangladesh. It is responsible for patrolling the country’s coastline and territorial waters, enforcing maritime laws and regulations, and preventing illegal activities such as smuggling and piracy.
