Coast Guard rescues 3 fishermen near Sundarban

BM Desk:

Three fishermen were rescued alive from the area near Mandarbaria Island adjacent to the Sundarban by the Bangladesh Coast Guard West Zone on Saturday.

A spokesperson for the Coast Guard said that the fishermen were rescued while BCG ship Tawfik was patrolling the Operation Search.

All the rescued fishermen are residents of Koira police station in Khulna district.

They were fishing in the Mandarbaria area near the Sundarban when the engine of the fishermen’s boat broke down, floated uncontrollably, and sank at one point. Later, the fishermen took refuge on North Mandarbaria Island. The rescued fishermen were given food and first aid by the Bangladesh Coast Guard ship Tawfiq.

The process of handing over the rescued fishermen to their families is going on.
