Chinese Envoy calls on Dhaka University VC

Chinese Ambassador in Bangladesh Mr. Yao Wen called on Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan today September 10, 2024 at the latter’s office of the university. He was accompanied by some other officials of Chinese Embassy in Dhaka.

During the meeting they exchanged views regarding various issues including the possibilities of strengthening ongoing joint collaborative academic and research programs among the University of Dhaka and different universities in China.The possibilities of organizing seminar, workshop, conference and cultural events jointly by Dhaka University and Chinese universities were also discussed in the meeting. They stressed the need for more exchange of students, teachers, researchers, sports and cultural teams among DU and Chinese universities.

The Vice-Chancellor said, an excellent friendly relationship has been prevailing between Bangladesh and China for a long time. These friendly ties between the two countries will be further strengthened in the days to come, he hoped. The VC said, DU students have been facing huge seat crisis for long time. He sought cooperation from Chinese ambassador to resolve this accommodation problem at DU. The Chinese Ambassador assured the VC of providing all possible support and cooperation in this regard. 

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Niaz Ahmed Khan thanked the Chinese envoy for his visit to Dhaka University and keen interest in its academic and research activities.
