BSEC Seeking Support from Dr. Yunus to Raise Funds for ICB.

Investors are blaming the regulatory body Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) as the reason for the continued price fall in the capital market. On the other hand, liquidity crisis is the biggest problem in the capital market in the view of BSEC. In this situation, the commission is looking to restore the confidence of investors by increasing the liquidity flow.

Accordingly, BSEC is waiting to meet with the highest policy-making level of the government soon to implement the plan.

Several responsible sources, said that in that meeting, the commission will try hard to get financial allocation to the state-owned investment institution Investment Corporation of Bangladesh (ICB) to increase liquidity in the capital market. Investors will be discussed. At the same time initiatives are being taken to list government and good companies.

Sources say that, the commission has prepared the initial work of these initiatives. Now preparations are underway to sit down with the highest policy-making level of the government. Only financial advisor. Not Salehuddin Ahmed, the chief advisor is Professor Dr. BSEC also plans to meet with Muhammad Yunus. After receiving the green signal from the government, BSEC will complete the correspondence and other supplementary works.

BSEC chairman Khandkar Rashed Maksud said, ‘BSEC will soon discuss with the interim government for the development of the capital market. We will discuss with the government to increase liquidity in the market. ICB will work with funds from Govt. I will talk to them about this.’

Rashed Maqsood said, ‘Foreign investors have left a lot due to the floor price. We are working to bring them back. The commission is working to build a safe market and Small investors.
