BSEC meeting with World Bank representative on capital market reform.

A fruitful meeting was held with the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) Chairman Khandaker Rashed Maksud and Abdoulaye Seck, the country director of the World Bank appointed for Bangladesh, on the overall situation of the country’s capital market.

The meeting was held on Thursday (October 10) at the BSEC building. BSEC Chairman Khandkar Rashed Maqsood and BSEC Commissioner Farzana Lalarukh participated on behalf of BSEC. Abdoulaye Sek, World Bank Country Director in charge of Bangladesh and Bhutan and Toshiaki Ono, Senior Financial Sector Specialist of World Bank were present in the meeting. Abdoulaye Sek, the country director of the World Bank appointed for Bangladesh, has come to BSEC for the first time.

In the meeting, various aspects of the overall development of the country’s capital market were discussed between the two parties. Various issues of reforming the country’s capital market, increasing good governance in the entire infrastructure of the capital market, ensuring good governance in the companies listed in the capital market and modernizing the entire infrastructure of the market including the participating institutions of the capital market were discussed in the meeting.

In addition, the task force formed for the reform of the capital market was also discussed in the meeting. Above all, the World Bank’s technical and partnership support and cooperation in the discussed issues was highlighted in the discussion of the meeting.
