B Mirror Desk : In the midst of a developing political crisis, the BNP arrived at the State Guest House Jamuna at 7:30 PM this evening (24 May) to initiate discussions with Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus.
A four-member delegation, headed by the party’s Standing Committee Member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, which includes Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, Salahudin Ahmed, and Moyeen Khan, will conduct the talks, with a primary focus on ensuring a fair election.
Earlier, Khasru informed the media that this is the sole method to restore democratic order in Bangladesh.
Yesterday, Salahuddin mentioned that they reached out to the Chief Adviser to request a meeting. “It is unfortunate that a political party like the BNP cannot secure a meeting even after 5–6 days. This alone reflects the state of the relationship.”
Following this, the Chief Adviser is scheduled to meet with Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and the National Citizen Party (NCP) separately.
Jamaat Nayeb-e-Ameer Syed Abdullah Muhammad Taher stated to the media that the Chief Adviser’s Office has scheduled a meeting with them for 8 PM this evening.
Taher noted that Jamaat believes the resignation of the Chief Adviser is not a viable solution, expressing that the party desires the next election to occur under Yunus’s leadership.
Additionally, in a statement today, NCP Joint Member Secretary Mushfiqur Us Salehin announced that a delegation from the party, led by its Convener Nahid Islam, will hold discussions with the Chief Adviser.
This meeting is set for 8:30 PM at the State Guest House, Jamuna, following an official invitation from Yunus, he added.
