B Mirror Report: Ershad Ullah, the “Sheaf of Paddy” candidate for the Chattogram-8 (Boalkhali–Chandgaon) constituency, stated that compared to other governments, the BNP is committed to protecting the rights and interests of the neglected Hindu community and to helping them move forward.

He said that the Awami League government had distanced the BNP from the Hindu community. “We were not even allowed to go and distribute gifts during various religious festivals; they created obstacles. Now times have changed. To cast your entrusted vote, you must definitely go to the polling center. BNP leaders and activists will take responsibility for your security.”

He made these remarks on Sunday (8 February) at 8:00 pm at a street meeting organized at the Jhautala Lala Bari field in Ward No. 7 of Popadia Union, Boalkhali.

The meeting was presided over by Moslem Mia, former joint organizing secretary of the Upazila BNP and convener of the Ward No. 7 polling center election management committee, and conducted by BNP leader M. M. Tipu. The chief speaker was Alhaj Azizul Haque, joint convener of the South District BNP and former union chairman.

Special guests included South District BNP convening committee member S. M. Jabed Mehedi Hasan Sujan, former president of Popadia Union BNP S. M. Selim, and convener of the South District Krishak Dal Mohsin Chowdhury Rana.

Others present included Syed M. Saifuddin, Zakir, Nazrul Islam, Didarul Alam Liton, Dipak Kumar Lala, Kanu Biswas, teacher Nipok Lala, Prabir Das, Ashish Pal, Ratan Pal, Nirupom Acharya, teacher Tajul Islam Russel, Osman Gani, Chandu Dey, Md.
