BM Report:
The United States wants to increase its exports of agro-products to the Bangladesh market as well as develop livestock businesses in this country. This information came from a meeting arranged by W&W Grains, the local dealer of Cargill Inc., one of the largest companies in the world based in the United States.
The US Ambassador to Dhaka and the Agricultural Attache of the Embassy participated in this dinner. In the meeting, they also discussed ways to expand exports and the challenges of obtaining credit with agricultural business representatives.
The meeting also discussed trade-related cooperation between Bangladesh and the United States. The United States Embassy informed us that in 2022, more than 900 million dollars worth of agricultural products were exported to Bangladesh from their country. Therefore, Bangladesh has now become a valuable partner of the United States in agriculture-based business. The supply of many US agricultural products, such as soybeans, wheat, and cotton, to Bangladesh is now increasing.
