BB & Jamuna Bank Launch Entrepreneur Program

A month-long Entrepreneurship Development Training Program was successfully concluded in Jhenaidah under the slogan “Be an Entrepreneur, Build the Nation,” jointly organized by Bangladesh Bank and Jamuna Bank PLC. The initiative was implemented under the “Skills for Industry Competitiveness and Innovation (SICIP)” program of the Ministry of Finance, funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB). The closing ceremony was held on Wednesday, 26 November 2025, at CO Tower in Jhenaidah. A total of 25 entrepreneurs, including 15 women participants, received certificates, crests and honorariums upon completion of the training. Mohammad Kabir Hossain, Vice President and Khulna Zonal Head of Jamuna Bank PLC, presided over the program. Joint Director of Bangladesh Bank, Mohammad Wasim attended the event as the Chief Guest. Special Guests included N.H.M. Nusrat, Head of SME (Marketing) of Jamuna Bank PLC and Md. Shamsul Alam, Executive Director of CO NGO. The program was conducted by Md. Atiar Rahman, Manager of Jamuna Bank’s Jhenaidah Branch. The core objective of the SICIP initiative is to enhance the capacity of new and existing entrepreneurs by providing skill development training and facilitating financial support. The participants gained essential business knowledge, operational competencies, and motivation required to ensure sustainable business growth under formal banking channels. Senior officials from Bangladesh Bank and Jamuna Bank PLC, along with promising local entrepreneurs, were present at the event. The guests expressed optimism that such initiatives would significantly contribute to strengthening entrepreneurial capacity at the grassroots level and improving financial inclusion across the region.
