Bashundhara Group’s festival of life with children with special needs

Bashundhara Special Children Foundation, working on a mission to change the lives of children with special needs, organized an inspiring program “Come to the Festival of Life, Everyone”. This program demonstrated Bashundhara Group’s commitment and compassion towards special children.

This special day was organized at the playground of Bashundhara Public School and College. Bashundhara Group Honorable Chairman Ahmed Akbar Sobhan, Honorable Vice Chairman Safwan Sobhan, and Foundation Chairperson and Bashundhara Group Director Yasha Sobhan were present at the event. In addition, students, guardians, teachers and other distinguished guests were present.

The program began with the recitation of the Holy Quran and prayers. Then, the special needs students of the foundation participated in the national anthem. This performance challenged the misconception of the society that children with special needs are a burden; rather, they are the beacons of light in the society. This was followed by a heart-warming audio-visual presentation highlighting the extraordinary journey of the foundation and how they are working tirelessly to bring about a change in the lives of children with special needs. Bashundhara Group, with the support of various initiatives including Bashundhara Tissue, has been spending a portion of the money from the sale of each product for this purpose.

Foundation Principal Shayla Sharmin and In-charge Major (Retd) Mohsinul Karim spoke at the event. After that, Foundation Chairperson Yasha Sobhan expressed her feelings and talked about her dreams and goals for improving the quality of life of special children.

Parents of the students also shared their experiences, how Bashundhara Special Children Foundation has lit a light of hope in the lives of their children. One of the attractions of the program was the mesmerizing cultural performance of the students. They spread the light of their talent and creativity through dance, song and drama. In addition, special awards were given to the teachers and welfare workers along with the students.

The event concluded with a joyful cake cutting ceremony and a special session with the Rangpur Riders team, which further enhanced the joy of the children.

Bashundhara Special Children Foundation is working to create a Bangladesh free from discrimination in society. This initiative is inspiring children to be confident and self-reliant and is taking society forward on a new path of light.
