Baraka Power cut dividends even as profits increased.

The listed company Baraka Power Limited has declared dividend for the financial year ended on June 30, 2024. The company will pay 3.5 percent cash dividend to investors for the year under review.

The decision of dividend was taken after reviewing and approving the audited financial report of the last financial year in the meeting of the board of directors of the company held on Thursday (November 07).

According to sources, the company has earned 12 paise per share in the financial year ended. Earnings per share were 56 paise last year. That is, the company paid 5 percent dividend despite making half the profit of the previous year. Where this time after the increase in profit, the amount of dividend has decreased.

The company’s net asset value per share (NAVPS) as on June 30, 2024 was Tk. 22.61 paise.

The annual general meeting (AGM) of the company will be held in hybrid mode on Thursday, December 26, at 6:30 pm to approve the dividend. The record date for this has been fixed on December 1.
