Banks Closed Feb 11–12 for National Election, Referendum

B Mirror Report:  All scheduled banks across the country will remain closed on February 11 and 12 in observance of the upcoming 13th National Parliamentary Election and referendum.

Bangladesh Bank (BB) issued a circular on Tuesday announcing the closure.

According to the circular, the decision follows a notification from the Ministry of Public Administration issued on January 25, which declared government holidays on those two days to mark the election and referendum.

In line with the government order, Bangladesh Bank directed all scheduled banks operating in Bangladesh to suspend operations on February 11 and 12.

The central bank said the instruction was issued under the provisions of the Bank Company Act.
