The government has canceled the National Day of Mourning holiday on August 15. In continuation of this, bank and financial institutions will be open on this day. Transactions of banks and financial institutions will continue as usual.
On Wednesday (August 14), the Central Bank’s Department of Off-site Supervision and Financial Institutions and Markets Department issued two separate instructions in this regard.
According to the directive, the Ministry of Public Administration canceled the National Mourning Day holiday on August 15 through an order on August 13. Due to this, all scheduled banks will be open as usual on this day.
The Central Bank has issued this directive under the powers conferred by Section 45 of the Bank Companies Act, 1991.
According to another directive, the finance companies will open their offices and operate normally on August 15.
