Bangladesh has repaid more than $4 billion in foreign debt in a single fiscal year for the first time in its history.
A report released today, July 27, by the Economic Relations Division (ERD), states that during the fiscal year 2024–2025, Bangladesh paid back a total of $4.087 billion to development partners.
This comprises principle payments of $2.595 billion and interest payments of $1.49 billion.
The nation spent a total of $3.37 billion in fiscal year 2023–2024.
