Bangladesh’s Exports to Remain Duty-Free in UK Until 2029

British High Commissioner to Bangladesh, Sarah Cook, has announced that Bangladesh will continue to enjoy duty-free access for its exports to the UK market until 2029.

She made the statement on Sunday evening (7 December) while speaking as a special guest at the HSBC Export Excellence Award 2025 ceremony, held at a hotel in the capital.

Sarah Cook said that even after 2029, nearly 92 percent of products exported from Bangladesh, including ready-made garments, will continue to receive duty-free access to the UK market. This will play a significant role in diversifying Bangladesh’s export destination.

She further added that this decision proves the UK’s long-term commitment to expanding trade with Bangladesh and strengthening future economic relations.
