Bangladesh Bank and Bangladesh Commerce Bank Ltd. has signed an agreement regarding for a Pre-financing Scheme Aimed at the Growth and Development of the Leather and Leather-goods Industry.
A participation agreement has been signed between Bangladesh Bank and Bangladesh Commerce Bank Limited to facilitate the disbursement of loans under a BDT 2,000 crore pre-financing scheme at low interest rates and on favorable terms, with the objective of fostering the growth and development of the leather and leather-goods industry.
The signing ceremony took place on November 1, 2026, at the A. N. Hamidullah Conference Room at the Bangladesh Bank head office. The agreement was signed on behalf of the respective institutions by Md. Zabdul Islam, Director of the SME and Special Programmers’ Department at Bangladesh Bank and Md. Obaidul Hoque Managing Director of Bangladesh Commerce Bank Limited. Bangladesh Bank Deputy Governor Md. Anis Ur Rahman attended the event as the chief guest. Also present at the ceremony was Nahida Rahman, Executive Director of Bangladesh Bank.
