Bangladesh, China vow enhanced media cooperation

Chinese Ambassador meets Bangladeshi Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting

Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Yao Wen paid a courtesy call on Mohammad Ali Arafat, the newly appointed Bangladeshi Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting, on Sunday in Dhaka.

The two officials engaged in a comprehensive discussion on strengthening people-to-people exchanges, communication, and media cooperation between China and Bangladesh.

Ambassador Yao congratulated Mr. Arafat on his new role and reaffirmed China’s unwavering support for Bangladesh’s sovereignty, independence, territorial integrity, unity, and stability. He highlighted the progress made in the China-Bangladesh Strategic Partnership of Cooperation, particularly in cultural and personnel exchanges. He expressed China’s willingness to further enhance these exchanges and promote mutual learning in media and communication, ultimately strengthening the bond between the two peoples.

Minister Arafat expressed his appreciation for China’s longstanding and firm support for Bangladesh’s development and acknowledged China’s positive impact on the well-being of Bangladeshi citizens. He emphasized the importance of personnel and cultural exchanges in fostering close people-to-people connections. He pledged to dedicate himself to advancing friendly cooperation between the two countries in cultural exchanges, communication, and media collaboration during his term.

The meeting signifies the commitment of both nations to deepening their collaboration on various fronts, with particular emphasis on fostering cultural understanding and media partnerships. This is expected to further solidify the strong bond between China and Bangladesh.
