Mrinal Kanti Ray Tangail District Correspondent: Winter clothing was distributed among cold-stricken and underprivileged people in the BADC Army Camp area of Madhupur upazila in Tangail under the initiative of the Bangladesh Army.

On Sunday (11 January), following the directives of the Chief of Army Staff, Major General Md Hossain Al Morshed, NDC, AFWC, PSC, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 19 Infantry Division and Ghatail Area Commander, handed over winter clothing to 200 destitute and helpless families.

As in previous years, the Bangladesh Army has been carrying out various humanitarian activities during the winter season to stand by disadvantaged people. Beneficiaries expressed their happiness after receiving the winter clothing and conveyed their gratitude to the Bangladesh Army.

Speaking on the occasion, the GOC said he hoped such public welfare–oriented activities would continue in the future as well.

The programme was attended by Brigadier General Imad Uddin Ahmed, SPP, PSC, Commander of the 309 Infantry Brigade Headquarters, along with other senior military officers from the Ghatail area.
