Special Correspondent:

The Bangladesh Securities Exchange Commission on Wednesday organized a distinctive function to celebrate the birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the National Children Day.

The State Minister for Commerce Ahsanul Islam Titu and Bangladesh Insurance Association President Sheikh Kabir Hossain spoke at the function, presided over by the BSEC Chairman, Professor Shibly Rubayat Ul Islam. Sheikh Kabir, who happens to be a first cousin of Bangabandhu Sheik Mujibur Rahman, shared his many childhood memories with Bangabandhu. He told the audience that Bangabandhu, even in his busy and stressful political life, had been used to loving children much.

“Mujib bhai had always used to insist relatives and political co-workers to stay in touch with children as much as possible,” said Kabir. “Even, he used to get annoyed when he found that children are kept outside on pretext of disturbance, he used to say that it is naturally beautiful that children make noise or play with all our useful things.”

At the function BSEC also arranged jobs for five sight-disabled persons who attained their Post -Graduate degrees from the university of Dhaka. The Chittagong Stock Exchange, the BASIS, E-Generation,, 3i Asset Management and Japan Bangladesh Friendship Hospital hired those three sight-disabled females and two males, who achieved good academic results.
