Bangladesh Awami League’s International Affairs Sub-Committee organized a special program to commemorate the brutal killing of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his family on August 15, 1975 and the deadly grenade attack on the rally of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on August 21, 2004.
Begum Matia Chowdhury, MP, deputy leader of Jatiya Sangsad and member of the presidium body of Bangladesh Awami League was present as the chief guest in the event organized at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Memorial Museum.
Mr. Abdur Rahman, member of the presidium of Bangladesh Awami League, was present as a special guest.
Dr. Shammi Ahmed, International Affairs Secretary, Central Committee, Bangladesh Awami League, gave a welcome speech at the event. Among others who spoke were Mr. Syeda Zakia Noor Lipi, MP and Mr. Abdur Rahman Rama, an eyewitness to the 1975 massacre.
The program was presided over by Mr. Mohammad Zamir, former Ambassador, Chairman, International Affairs Sub-Committee, Bangladesh Awami League.
Ambassadors of various countries including USA, Canada, Australia, Germany, China, Kosovo, Argentina, Vietnam, Turkey and Mr. Tariq Afzal, member, international affairs sub-committee, Bangladesh Awami League, central leaders of Bangladesh Awami League and other members of international affairs sub-committee were present at this time.
