The representatives of the Bangladesh government attended the annual meeting of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Washington DC, USA and participated in various meetings. The road map of building a new prosperous Bangladesh was presented to donor organizations including the United States.
The delegation highlighted the changes brought to the integrity of the country’s financial sector, which is in a broken state, including bank management.
Bangladesh Bank Governor Dr. Ahsan H Mansoor said that the roadmap has been prepared to start the work of asset evaluation. The extent of damage to any bank will be determined by scrutiny by international observers.
The US government’s policy assistance has also been sought on the way and how the public-private sector partnership in economic development. In this regard, the governor said, policy support has been sought from the United States government and the World Bank. This support is needed for the economic development of the country.
