Ashuganj Power Station Company Limited (APSCL) signed a memorandum of understanding with Dhaka Power Distribution Company Limited (DPDC) on Sunday, August 20, 2023, at the conference room of DPDC to use e-auction software developed by DPDC, a press release said.

Under the chairmanship of DPDC Managing Director Engineer Bikas Dewan and Power Department Senior Secretary Md. Habibur Rahman, BPAA was present as the chief guest, and Engineer AMM Sazzadur Rahman, Managing Director, Ashuganj Power Station Company Limited, was the special guest.

According to the release, the e-auction system performs an online-based auction process. Bidders interested in the auction can participate through the website. As the process is automated, there is no scope for any kind of unwanted intervention. Updates are provided to bidders through email notifications at each stage of the auction. The entire process is transparent and accountable. DPDC developed the e-auction system in 2016 and won the BASIS National ICT Award in 2018 in recognition of the innovation.

In his speech, the chief guest praised the signing of the MoU and emphasized increasing mutual communication between the organizations in the power sector.

As a result of the success of the e-auction system developed by DPDC, an MoU was signed between DPDC and APSCL for the use of the e-auction system at Ashuganj Power Station Company Limited (APSCL). As a result of the agreement, APSCL will be able to use an e-auction system developed by DPDC to complete their auction activities.

The DPDC Executive Director, Chief Engineer, General Manager, and other senior officials were present on the occasion.
