B Mirror Desk : Brigadier General (Retd) Dr. M Sakhawat Hossain, Advisor to the Ministry of Labor and Employment, announced that all hotels, restaurants, and retail outlets in the Dhaka Metropolitan area will be required to register.

He stated that registration must be completed in accordance with the Labor Act of 2006 for all residential hotels, restaurants, super shops, shopping malls, and large market shops in the Dhaka district. This announcement was made during a discussion with officials from the Department of Factories and Establishments Inspection and the Department of Labor at the Bangladesh Secretariat on May 4.

The advisor emphasized that the registration process must adhere to Section 326 of the Labor Act, 2006, and inspectors will be tasked with ensuring compliance among all business establishments in the Dhaka Metropolitan area. He warned that failure to register by May 20 will result in action against non-compliant shops and businesses.
