Al-Arafah Islami Bank opens ‘Hajj Booth’ at Ashkona Hajj Camp

Al-Arafah Islami Bank PLC. has opened ‘Hajj Booth’ to provide services to Hajj pilgrims at Ashkona Hajj Camp. On Saturday 18 April 2026, Managing Director of the Bank Mohd. Rafat Ullah Khan inaugurated the booth as Chief Guest.

The occasion was presided by Deputy Managing Director Muhammad Fazlur Rahman Chowdhury where Deputy Managing Director Md. Aminul Islam Bhuiyan, Deputy Managing Director Sayed Abul Hashem FCA, Senior Executive Vice President Engr. Mohammad Habib Ullah, Engr. Md. Idris Ali, Md. Monjurul Alam, Md. Sharif Chowdhury, Senior Assistant Vice President Md. Mizanur Rahman and other senior executives of the Bank and honorable Hajj Pilgrims were also present.

In the speech of chief guest, Md. Rafat Ullah Khan said, Hajj is an important act of worship in the lives of Muslims, where every participant is an honored guest of Allah. Al-Arafah Islami Bank has been working for a long time with the aim of providing comprehensive support to those interested in performing this great act of worship. He further said that the bank has introduced various timely and Sharia-compliant services for the convenience of Hajj pilgrims and such initiatives will continue in the future. At this time, he highlighted the benefit of the bank’s various deposit schemes and urged everyone present to get involved in Sharia-based banking activities. In the final part of his speech, he sought blessings from the pilgrims and expressed his sincere wishes for their health, safety, and successful performance of the Hajj.

Managing Director handed over Hajj bags, umbrellas and a Hajj guideline booklet titled Hajj Sahayika to hundreds of pilgrims on behalf of the bank. Under this initiative, the bank has distributed these gift items to approximately 15,000 Hajj pilgrims this year. Notably, a total of 14,774 Hajj pilgrims have completed their registration through the bank this year, which accounts for approximately 20 percent of the country’s total Hajj pilgrims. In addition, through the inaugurated booth, the bank will provide various services to Hajj pilgrims, including free passport endorsement, foreign currency exchange, emergency medical support and Hajj-related information.
