Al-Arafah Islami Bank held a Business Development Conference

The Business Development Conference 2025 of Al-Arafah Islami Bank PLC. was held on January 25, 2025 Saturday at the Ballroom of Pan Pacific Sonargaon Dhaka. Chairman of the Bank Khwaja Shahriar inaugurated the conference as Chief Guest. The meeting was presided by Managing Director and CEO of the Bank Farman R. Chowdhury.

Directors of the Bank Md. Abdul Wadud, Md. Shahin Ul Islam, Dr. Mohammed Abu Eusuf and Mohammad Asraful Hassan FCA were present in the meeting.

Among others Additional Managing Director Mohd. Rafat Ullah Khan, Deputy Managing Directors Mohammed Nadim, Md. Fazlur Rahman Chowdhury, Md. Asaduzzaman Bhuiyan, Md. Aminul Islam Bhuiyan, Mohammed Hossain, Kazi Mahmood Karim, S.M. Abu Jafar, Senior Executives of Head Office and managers of 226 branches of the Bank participated the conference.

Chaiman of the Bank Khwaja Shahriar said, Al-Arafah Islami Bank is one of the best Banks in the country because of the trust and confidence of its customers. We are striving to bring banking services to the doorsteps of our customers through modernization of the Bank, increasing efficiency, branding, digital innovation and automation and new products. We want to prioritize sustainable development by further strengthening good governance, accountability and responsibility. He gave special instructions to the branch managers to reduce default investment of the Bank

Managing Director and CEO Farman R. Chowdhury said, branch managers need to be more focused on achieving targets in different areas of the business. He said, there is no alternative to increasing deposits and quality investments. He emphasized on providing better and faster services by being more sincere in customer service to the branches.

According to unaudited data, the total Deposit of the Bank stood at Tk 47,735 crore at the end of 2024. At that time, the Import and Export volumes were Tk 34,382 crore and Tk 25,580 crore respectively and remittance received amount was Tk 9,014 crore.
