AIBL launches tree plantation program

Al-Arafah Islami Bank PLC has launched a tree plantation program at Khulna University campus as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, with the aim of contributing to environmental conservation and creating a greener environment. Under the slogan “Let’s Decorate the Country with Tree Plantation, Bangladesh First,” the Bank has initiated the plantation of native fruit-bearing, forest and medicinal tree saplings across the university campus.

Professor Dr. Md. Rezaul Karim, Vice-Chancellor of Khulna University, attended the inaugural program as the Chief Guest. The program was presided over by Mohammad Nazim Uddin, Senior Executive Vice President & Khulna Zonal Head of Al-Arafah Islami Bank PLC.

In his remarks, Professor Dr. Md. Rezaul Karim welcomed the initiative of Al-Arafah Islami Bank and emphasized the importance of extensive tree plantation in ensuring sustainable development. He expressed his appreciation to the Bank for undertaking the initiative and thanked all concerned for their efforts.

In his remarks, Mohammad Nazim Uddin said that tree plantation would play an important role in maintaining environmental balance, conserving biodiversity, improving quality of life and addressing the risks posed by climate change. He expressed hope that similar initiatives would continue in close collaboration with Khulna University in the future and thanked the university authorities for their overall cooperation.

Among others present at the program were Professor Dr. Md. Nurunnabi, Treasurer of Khulna University; Professor Dr. Md. Golam Rakibu of the Forestry and Wood Technology Discipline; respected Provosts; S. M. Mohammad Ali, Deputy Registrar & Head of the Estate Branch; Md. Enayet Fakir, Vice President & Manager of the Bank’s Khulna Branch; Md. Abdul Mannan, Vice President & Manager of the Gallamari Branch along with concerned executives and officials from the Bank and the university.
