Agrani Bank holds IFRS-9 workshop to strengthen accounting standards compliance
Agrani Bank Training Institute organized a day-long workshop on IFRS-9 on Saturday, May 16, 2026, aimed at enhancing implementation of international financial reporting standards within the banking sector.
Managing Director Mozzafar Ahmad (FCMA) attended the session as the chief guest. Senior management officials including Deputy Managing Directors, the General Manager, corporate branch heads, and divisional heads also took part in the workshop.
Among others, officials Md. Abul Bashar, Parshuma Alam, and Rubana Parvin were present at the event.
The workshop focused on the implementation of IFRS-9 and the application of Expected Credit Loss (ECL) models in banking operations. Participants discussed ways to improve transparency, strengthen financial reporting accuracy, and ensure compliance with international standards.
Speakers highlighted that effective adoption of IFRS-9 would play a crucial role in modernizing risk assessment practices and improving the overall financial stability of the banking sector.
