Md. Nazrul Islam, Rajbari District Correspondent: A month after being kidnapped in Rajbari, the ninth grade schoolgirl was rescued. Abduction case accused SM Zakir, 32, was arrested by RAB-10 from Saltha in Faridpur. Zakir is the son of Nazimuddin Mia of Dayarampur village of Faridpur Kotyali police station.

On Wednesday (March 26) at 4:30 PM, RAB-10’s raid team conducted an operation in Saltha Thana area of Faridpur district based on secret information and with the help of information technology.

According to a press release from RAB-10 on Thursday, on February 25 at 2 pm, the ninth grade schoolgirl (14) was forcibly picked up in a private car by accused SM Zakir on her way home from school with the help of other accused. In this incident, the school girl’s mother filed a case of kidnapping at Rajbari Sadar police station on March 8. After learning about the case, the accused involved in the incident went into hiding. Later, the investigating officer of the case sent a summons to the Captain, RAB-10, Dhaka to bring the accused involved in the kidnapping under the law. Based on this warrant, a raiding team of RAB-10 increased intelligence surveillance with the aim of arresting the accused and rescuing the abducted schoolgirl.

On Wednesday (March 26) at 4:30 PM, RAB-10’s raid team conducted an operation in Saltha Thana area of Faridpur district based on secret information and with the help of information technology. In this operation, the absconding accused SM Zakir was arrested and according to his information, the kidnapped schoolgirl (14) was rescued. The arrested accused and abducted school girl have been handed over to Rajbari police station.
