Mrinal Tangail Correspondent: A public hearing conducted by the ACC took place in Tangail under the banner “Let’s all work together to build a country, a corruption-free Bangladesh.” The District Anti-Corruption Commission arranged this public hearing at the District Shilpakala Academy auditorium on Monday morning.

During the session, various complaints from citizens who experienced bribery, corruption, and irregularities across different government, semi-government, autonomous departments, financial institutions, and educational institutions in Tangail were directly addressed. Concurrently, decisions were made to initiate action on several complaints pending necessary investigations, and many issues were resolved during the hearing. In total, 69 complaints were presented. Of these, 6 were accepted for public inquiry. Furthermore, immediate action was taken on 38 complaints, while 25 complainants did not attend the public hearing.

The public hearing was chaired and moderated by Deputy Commissioner Sharifa Haque, with Anti-Corruption Commission Commissioner (Investigation) Mian Muhammad Ali Akbar Azizi as the guest. Also in attendance were Anti-Corruption Commission Director General (Prevention) Md. Akhter Hossain, Director General (Investigation-1) Md. Rezaul Kabir, and Tangail Police Superintendent Md. Mizanur Rahman.

In his opening remarks, Commissioner Mian Muhammad Ali Akbar Azizi emphasized that the Anti-Corruption Commission is tirelessly combating corruption and irregularities. He stated that the public hearing is organized to engage directly with citizens who have fallen victim to corruption and irregularities. He further asserted that no one will escape the consequences of corruption.

The public hearing was attended by heads of various government departments, freedom fighters, journalists, and business leaders.
