Mahmudu Bheramara Correspondent : Students in Bheramara Upazila of Kushtia district participated in a program on Monday, July 14, to receive seedlings of neem, bel, jam, and jackfruit trees as part of the Agricultural Incentive Program from the Agricultural Rehabilitation Assistance Sector for the fiscal year 2024–2025. Through the distribution of fruit and herbal tree seedlings, the program’s primary goal is to raise students’ awareness of environmental issues and promote greening.

Under this program, free saplings are being distributed to students, which can be planted in their home yards or around educational institutions. These saplings include seedlings of various fruit and herbal plants, including neem, betel, jam and jackfruit.

This program is being run with the slogan “Agriculture is Prosperity” in mind, and through this, students are being encouraged to instill a sense of environmental responsibility and build a greener world.

Upazila Executive Officer Rafiqul Islam was present as the chief guest, Upazila Agriculture Officer (acting) Ashfaqur Rahman was the special guest, Upazila Secondary Education Officer Faruk Ahmed, Upazila Social Service Officer Imdadul Haque Biswas was the special guest, Damukdia Secondary School Headmaster Mominul, Assistant Teacher Shariful Islam, Assistant Teacher Saidul Islam, Assistant Teacher Nazrul Islam, Office Assistant Rezaur Rahman Tonu spoke.

A total of 3,600 trees will be given to students of various educational institutions in the upazila. Each student will receive four trees.
