APR elevates sustainable fashion at Dhaka Textile Exhibition 2024

Asia Pacific Rayon returns to DTG 2024, showcasing eco-friendly solutions to fuel Bangladesh’s booming textile industry

BM Report:

Asia Pacific Rayon (APR), a leading global viscose staple fiber (VSF) producer based in Indonesia, has returned to the 18th Dhaka International Textile and Garment Machinery Exhibition (DTG), signaling its commitment to Bangladesh’s growing textile industry and the demand for sustainable fashion solutions.

Tapan Sannigrahi, Vice President, Marketing and Downstream Development at Asia Pacific Rayon, emphasized Bangladesh’s significance for APR’s growth.

He stated, “Bangladesh is a cornerstone of APR’s growth and a key market. In just five years, it has become APR’s second-largest market outside Indonesia. We currently hold a 55% share in Bangladesh’s viscose fiber market, and we are actively introducing Lyocell as a sustainable alternative.”

The textile sector plays a crucial role in Bangladesh’s economy, ranking as the second-largest textile and garment exporter and one of the fastest-growing economies in Asia.

Sannigrahi noted, “Viscose is becoming the fastest-growing fiber used in Bangladesh’s textile industry. With its easy-to-dye attributes, it helps manufacturers reduce energy and water consumption during garment production.”

Headquartered in Jakarta, APR is a member of the Royal Golden Eagle (RGE) group of resource-based manufacturing companies. The company operates Asia Pacific Yarn (APY), a state-of-the-art, 7,800-tonne capacity downstream yarn spinning facility.

APR focuses on sustainability, launching its ambitious APR2030 sustainability agenda in November 2021, outlining four key pillars and corresponding targets for the next decade.

Visit APR at Hall 3, Booth #3-133 at DTG 2024 to explore their range of sustainable viscose and Lyocell products, including fibers, yarns, garments, and home textiles.
