Sheikh Akhter Uddin Ahmed was promoted to the position of Deputy Managing Director at National Bank Limited on Saturday. Previously, he held the role of Senior Executive Vice President & Head of the Human Resource Division. 

With over 25 years of diverse banking experience, encompassing Foreign Exchange Operations, Credit Operations, Foreign Remittance, General Banking, and Overseas Operations, Akhter began his career as a Probationary Officer at National Bank Limited in 1998. 

Notably, he served as the Chief Executive Officer of NBL Money Transfer SdnBhd, Malaysia, a wholly owned overseas subsidiary, for 12 years. Mr. Akhter holds graduate and postgraduate degrees in Accounting from Rajshahi University and has received various training and workshops both locally and internationally.

In his personal life, he enjoys a happy marriage with a daughter and a son.
