Shilpakala Academy initiates university-level festival to inspire youth groups

The ‘Metropolitan Cultural Festival-2023’ is set to take place, featuring the participation of 54 universities in Dhaka city. Organized by Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, the first meeting with the representative teachers of the universities was held on Sunday.

This festival is scheduled to unfold at various locations in the capital, bringing together cultural organizations from public, private, and other universities in Dhaka metropolis.

Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy advances with the motto ‘We will reach the pinnacle of development with art in unstoppable progress,’ with the vision of constructing a ‘Creative Human Bangladesh with Industrial Culture.’

Chaired by the Director-General of the academy, Liaquat Ali Laki, the first meeting saw the presence of 53 representative teachers from different universities and officers of the academy, alongside Secretary Salah Uddin Ahmed.

Additionally, the teachers commended the commendable initiative of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy to organize such a festival at the university level, aiming to inspire the young generation of students.

The Director-General-Generalhted in his speech that “Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy continues multifaceted cultural activities to create the cultural atmosphere of the country.”

The academy’s activities are expanding to 493 upazilas, and initiatives have been launched not only to build complexes in Dhaka city but also in Uttara and Mirpur, he added.
