A 4-day international art exhibition entitled ‘Harmony Unbound’ has started at the Zainul Gallery of the Dhaka University Fine Arts Faculty with the joint participation of artists from Bangladesh, Malaysia, and Indonesia. Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Professor Akhtaruzzaman inaugurated this exhibition as the chief guest at the Osman Jamal Auditorium of the Faculty of Fine Arts on Thursday. Ambassador of Indonesia in Dhaka, Hiru Hartanto Subulo, was present as a guest of honor at the event. The Dhaka University Graphic Design Department organized this exhibition.
Chairperson of Graphic Design Department Bhadreshu Rita presided over the ceremony. Faculty of Fine Arts Dean Professor Nisar Hossain, University Technology Mara Rector Professor Noor Hisham Ibrahim, Indonesian Cultural Art Institute of Bandung Deputy Rector Professor Supriyatna, and DU Graphic Design Department Associate Professor Harun Or-Rashid spoke as special guests.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Akhtaruzzaman congratulated the artists of Dhaka University, Malaysia, and Indonesia who participated in this exhibition and said, “This type of organization is very important in conducting joint collaborative education and research activities.” He also said that such cooperative activities among different countries will play an important role in achieving sustainable development goals.
He expressed hope that Bangladesh’s art-culture exchange and friendly relations with the two countries will be strengthened through this exhibition.
24 artworks by 12 artists from the Dhaka University Graphic Design Department, 9 artworks by 8 artists from Universiti Teknologi Mara, Malaysia, and 3 artworks by 3 artists from the Indonesian Cultural Art Institute of Bandung are displayed in this exhibition. This exhibition will continue until November 5, 2023. The exhibition will be open to all from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. daily.
