Dr SM Mahfuzur Rahman reappointed as chairman of the board of directors of Janata Bank Limited for three more years. Financial Institution Division (FID) of the Ministry of Finance has recently issued a circular in this regard.

Mr. Mahfuz has been working as the vice chancellor of the BGMEA Institute of Fashion Technology. Besides he was a life member of the Bangladesh Asiatic Society. He was the chairman of the Department of Finance, University of Dhaka. He got retirement from the Department of International Business, University of Dhaka in 2018.

Besides has had serves as Director, Rupali Bank Limited and Chairman, Bangladesh Investment Corporation. He also engaged with different international agencies including the World Bank, ADB, UNESCO, UNICEF and UNDP.
