Media Delegation Meets New Sylhet DC

Sylhet Correspondent: Representatives of the Society of National Mass Media Commission paid a courtesy call on Sylhet’s newly appointed Deputy Commissioner (DC) and District Magistrate, Abdullah Al Mamun, and exchanged views on issues concerning the media and the district.

Abdullah Al Mamun officially assumed office as the Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate of Sylhet on Monday, July 13, and began his official duties the same day.

To welcome the new DC, a delegation of the Society of National Mass Media Commission, led by its Central Organising Secretary Kamal Khan, met him at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office on Wednesday. The delegation presented flowers and held a cordial discussion.

During the meeting, the delegation discussed various issues related to the interests and professional welfare of field-level journalists working in Sylhet. Emdadur Rahman Chowdhury Zia, Assistant General Secretary of the Sylhet Divisional Online Press Club, Sylhet Bureau Chief of Dainik Dhakar Dak, and Sylhet Correspondent of BBC News 24 BD, was also present.

The delegation congratulated Abdullah Al Mamun on his appointment and expressed optimism that, as a native of Sunamganj in the Sylhet region, he would work for the welfare and development of the people of Sylhet.

Nurul Amin Khan, Editor and Publisher of View News 71, Sylhet Divisional Bureau Chief of the national daily Alor Barta and The Daily Business Mirror; divisional members Sohag Ahmed and Badrul Alam; journalists Ashraf Uddin and Nizam Uddin; former Assistant Organising Secretary of Sylhet district Hossain Ahmed; Assistant General Secretary Ashraful Alam; Golapganj Upazila member Kabir Ahmed; Sharukh Uddin; Fahim Ahmed; and other members of the organisation.
