The agreement was signed on Tuesday at Janata Bank’s head office in Dhaka in the presence of senior officials from both banks.

Dutch-Bangla Bank Managing Director and CEO Md Ehteshamul Haque Khan, Deputy Managing Director Md Shahadat Hossain and other senior executives were also present.

The agreement was signed on behalf of Janata Bank by Mohammad Anis, General Manager of its ICT Division, and on behalf of Dutch-Bangla Bank by Abdullah Al Masud, Senior Executive Vice President and Head of Branch Operation and Liability Division.

Under the partnership, Janata Bank’s payment gateway, JanataPay, will enable merchants to accept online payments through DBBL’s Nexus Debit Card, Rocket, as well as Visa and Mastercard.

The integration is expected to provide customers of e-commerce platforms, merchants and service providers connected to JanataPay with faster, safer and more seamless online payment options.

The two banks said the initiative would help expand Bangladesh’s digital financial ecosystem, promote cashless transactions and ensure more reliable and secure payment services for customers.
