As part of Bangladesh Bank’s initiative to build a “Cashless Bangladesh”, IFIC Bank PLC organized an awareness campaign on Bangla QR at AGB Colony Kacha Bazar in Motijheel, Dhaka, to promote digital payment awareness among merchants and customers. The campaign was held today, Sunday, July 5, 2026. As part of the program, IFIC Bank’s Bangla QR booth was inaugurated through a ribbon-cutting ceremony and balloon release at the market. A rally was also held around the market area. Through live QR payment demonstrations, merchants and general customers were informed about the easy, fast and secure use of cashless transactions.
The program was attended by Mr. Syed Mansur Mustafa, Managing Director of IFIC Bank PLC, and Mr. Helal Ahmed, Chief of Branch Business and Head of Operations of IFIC Bank PLC. Among others, Mr. Mohammad Moin Uddin, Joint Director of the Payment Systems Department of Bangladesh Bank, and Mr. Md. Jahangir Hossain, Secretary of AGB Colony Kacha Bazar Small Traders Cooperative Society, were also present. Senior officials of the bank, local merchants, customers and media representatives also participated in the program.
Speaking at the event, the speakers said that the expansion of digital payment systems will play an important role in making the country’s economy more transparent, secure and dynamic. QR-based transactions are an easy, cost-effective and timely solution for everyone, from small merchants to general customers. Under the guidance of Bangladesh Bank, IFIC Bank has been working to raise awareness about cashless transactions across the country and make digital banking services more accessible.
