Al-Arafah Islami Bank holds training workshop

Al-Arafah Islami Bank held a day-long training course titled “Litigation Management” at the Bank’s Training Institute (AIBTI). Managing Director and CEO of the bank Mohd. Rafat Ullah Khan inaugurated the course virtually as the chief guest on Saturday, June 20, 2026.

Speaking as the chief guest, Mohd. Rafat Ullah Khan said that speedy recovery of classified investments is very important to ensure the financial stability of the bank, protection of depositors’ wealth and good governance. He emphasized on taking appropriate legal steps to recover defaulted investments, filing cases in a timely manner, and closely monitoring the proceedings of the cases. At this time, he called on all officers and employees to work collectively to make the ongoing 90-day ‘Classified Investment Recovery Campaign’ at the bank a success.

Joint District Judge of the Financial Debt Court, Dhaka, Md. Mosarraf Hossain was present as the resource person in the training program. During this time, he shared practical experience and judicial perspectives on legal processes, litigation challenges, preparation of proper documents, issuance of decrees, and effective investment recovery strategies.

The program was presided over by Senior Executive Vice President & Principal of Al-Arafah Islami Bank Training Institute (AIBTI) Md. Abdur Rahim Duary. The bank’s Executive Vice President and Chief Legal Officer Sarafat Ullah, Senior Assistant Vice President S.M. Julkar Nayen, Principal Officer Md. Shamim Nayen and senior officials were present at the workshop. A total of 48 executives and officers from the bank’s head office and different branches participated in the training program.

The training is expected to strengthen the Bank’s litigation management framework and contribute positively to the recovery of classified investments.
