Brunei Envoy lauds Bangladesh-Brunei ties

B Mirror Report: Brunei Darussalam’s High Commissioner to Bangladesh, His Excellency Haji Haris bin Othman, has expressed deep appreciation to noted columnist, social worker, and political analyst Engineer A K M Rezaul Karim following a recent high-level diplomatic meeting held at the Brunei High Commission in Dhaka.

In an official letter sent to Engineer Karim, the High Commissioner thanked him for leading a delegation that included historian and political scientist Lt. Col. (Retd.) Professor Dr. Akram Ali. He described the meeting as constructive and meaningful, focusing on issues of mutual interest, regional developments, and opportunities for expanding bilateral cooperation between Bangladesh and Brunei.

The envoy also appreciated the positive remarks made about the participation of the High Commission’s First Secretary, Rozaimee Abdullah.

According to the letter, discussions during the meeting highlighted the importance of human capital development, intellectual exchange, and stronger people-to-people ties in enhancing future cooperation between the two friendly nations.

During the visit, the delegation presented the High Commissioner with a copy of Professor Dr. Akram Ali’s latest book titled “July Revolution: And Its Aftermath Politics.” The Brunei envoy expressed gratitude for the gesture and said he looked forward to reading the publication to gain further insight into Bangladesh’s evolving political landscape.

The High Commissioner also praised Engineer Rezaul Karim for his contributions through organisations including the Bangladesh Nationalist Research Centre, the Centre for Human Rights and Human Development (CHRHD), and the Democracy Research Centre (DRC), particularly in promoting democratic values, policy research, dialogue, and human development.

In concluding his message, Haji Haris bin Othman conveyed his best wishes for Engineer Karim’s continued success and expressed hope for maintaining close engagement to further strengthen the longstanding friendship and cooperation between Bangladesh and Brunei Darussalam.
