B Mirror Report: According to figures issued today by the Bangladesh Bank (BB), the nation’s remittance inflow surpassed the US$3 billion milestone in April, demonstrating consistent high inflows from Bangladeshis living abroad.
Remittance receipts totaled $3,127 million during this time, up 13.6% from $2,752 million during the same period the previous year.
From July to April of the current fiscal year, expatriate Bangladeshis remitted a total of $29,332 million in remittances, which is substantially more than the $24,537 million recorded during the same time in the previous fiscal year.
The stability of the external sector, the building of foreign exchange reserves, and the general macroeconomic resilience are all greatly aided by the ongoing increase in remittance inflows.
