On the occasion of World Earth Day, NCC Bank has undertaken an extensive nationwide tree plantation program as part of its corporate social responsibility, aiming to plant more than 14,000 trees across the country. The initiative, themed “Apner Sathay Sobujer Pothay” (Towards a Greener Future with You) was inaugurated by the Managing Director of NCC Bank, M. Shamsul Arefin at Begum Nurjahan Memorial Girls’ High School in Mohammadpur, Dhaka. The inauguration ceremony was attended by Md. Alauddin, Head Master of the school; Md. Habibur Rahman, Deputy Managing Director of NCC Bank; Nighat Mumtaz, EVP & Head of Sustainable and Women’s Banking; Md. Jashimuddin, SVP & Head of Dhaka Outskirts Region; Md. Anisur Rahman Majumder, Head of Financial Inclusion Cell; S. M. Tanvir Hasan, Head of Retail Banking Unit; Md. Khairul Bashar, Head of Business & Branch of Mohammadpur Branch; along with other officials from the Head Office and Mohammadpur Branch.

As part of the program, various species of fruit-bearing saplings were planted on the school premises, and 150 students were given saplings. Under this initiative, tree plantation activities will be carried out in 40 school premises nationwide, benefiting more than 14,000 students through the distribution of saplings. During the event, awareness sessions on student banking, financial literacy, and digital banking were conducted for the students.

Speaking at the event, Managing Director M. Shamsul Arefin emphasized NCC Bank’s commitment to environmental sustainability and social responsibility. He stated that the initiative aims to reduce carbon emission and inspire the younger generation to actively participate in building a greener environment. He encouraged students to plant trees in their homes, rooftops, and unused lands. He further noted that NCC Bank continues to prioritize environmentally friendly financing and remains committed to impactful CSR initiatives. He also invited students and teachers to avail the bank’s fully digital and eco-friendly savings solution, the “NCC NeoX Account.” Arefin expressed optimism that such initiatives would help build a greener, pollution-free Bangladesh for future generations and reaffirmed NCC Bank’s commitment to continuing its efforts in this regard.
