B Mirror Report: Tabith Awal has rejoined the board of directors of National Bank PLC, alongside Naznin Ahmed, who has also been appointed as a director.
According to sources, their appointments were approved by Bangladesh Bank on March 31. They attended the bank’s 541st board meeting for the first time on April 5, which was chaired by Board Chairman Dr. Melita Mehjabin.
Tabith Awal is a diversified business figure with interests in banking, insurance, energy, and real estate. He serves as Deputy CEO of Multimode Group and is currently the President of the Bangladesh Football Federation. He previously served as a director of National Bank between 2001 and 2003.
Naznin Ahmed, on the other hand, is an entrepreneur in the garment sector and chairs several companies.
The appointments come amid a series of leadership changes at the bank following recent political developments. Former Chairman Abdul Awal Mintoo stepped down after assuming a ministerial role, with Dr. Melita Mehjabin now serving as the current chairman.
