Offices, banks reopen after week-long Eid break

B Mirror Report: Following the end of the Eid-ul-Fitr holidays, the country is returning to its regular work routine. After a consecutive seven-day public holiday, all government offices, courts, banks, and financial institutions will reopen from tomorrow, Tuesday (March 24).

However, due to the Independence Day holiday on March 26, many public and private employees have taken optional leave on March 24 and 25. This is followed by the weekend on Friday and Saturday (March 27 and 28). As a result, many people are enjoying an extended 12-day holiday from March 17 to 28. Therefore, full-scale operations in offices and courts are expected to resume only after this week.

It is anticipated that the capital, Dhaka, will return to its usual rhythm from next week.

Typically, on the first working day after Eid, work pressure in office areas remains low, as colleagues are more engaged in exchanging Eid greetings and pleasantries. Similarly, banks are unlikely to experience heavy transaction volumes this week unless there is an urgent need.

Meanwhile, journalists, officials, and employees working in newspapers have been observing a five-day holiday on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr. The Newspapers Owners’ Association of Bangladesh (NOAB) had declared the holiday from March 19 to 23. As the holiday ends today, media outlets are set to become active again from tomorrow.
