Major (Retd) Sarkar Tarek Ahmed Joins Bangladesh Krishi Bank as Chief Security Adviser

With the aim of further modernizing and strengthening the overall security system, risk management, and strategic security planning of Bangladesh Krishi Bank, Major (Retd) Sarkar Tarek Ahmed, an experienced professional in the security and banking sectors, joined the bank as Chief Security Adviser on January 20, 2026.

Major (Retd) Sarkar Tarek Ahmed joined the Bangladesh Army through the 28th BMA Long Course. During his service, he was entrusted with important and sensitive responsibilities, including assignments in the President Guard Regiment and United Nations peacekeeping missions. He took retirement in 2010 for personal reasons.

Previously, he served as Chief Security Officer (CSO) at Rupali Bank PLC, Sonali Bank PLC, NRB Bank PLC, Mutual Trust Bank PLC, and BRAC Bank PLC. In addition, at BRAC Bank PLC he served as a Senior Manager in Legal Support, Special Asset Management (SAM), Branch Risk Management, and the General Administration Division.

Major Sarkar Tarek Ahmed completed his SSC and HSC from Rangpur Cadet College, earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Chittagong, and obtained an MBA degree from Northern University. He also completed a postgraduate qualification in Human Resource Management (HRM) from IPM, Dhaka.

On behalf of the Bangladesh Krishi Bank family, he has been warmly welcomed and congratulated, with best wishes extended for his all-round success in his new role.
