City Bank to Purchase Another 20 Kathas of Land in Gulshan

The City Bank PLC, one of the top commercial banks in the nation, has made the decision to buy an extra 20 kathas of land in Gulshan next to its current holdings. The Board of Directors of the bank met today, Wednesday, January 7, 2026, and made the decision.

This information has been learned from bank sources.

According to the sources, City Bank currently owns about 20 kathas of land on Road No. 9, Block CEN(C), Gulshan Avenue. The newly approved land purchase is for a plot adjoining the existing property. Bangladesh Bank has already granted permission to the bank for the land acquisition.

The total cost for purchasing the discussed land, including registration and other related expenses, will amount to BDT 345 crore. Subsequently, a multi-storied building will be constructed on the combined new and existing land. The estimated cost of constructing the building is BDT 855 crore. The decision to construct the building will be implemented subject to approval from the central bank.
