19 Candidates Submit Nominations for Two Panchagarh Seats

Panchagarh, Dec — In a festive and enthusiastic atmosphere, a total of 19 candidates have submitted nomination papers for two constituencies in Panchagarh district for the 13th National Parliament election.

According to the district administration, nomination papers were submitted between Monday morning and 5:00 pm, the last day of submission. Of the total candidates, eight filed nominations for Panchagarh-1 constituency, while eleven submitted papers for Panchagarh-2 (Boda and Debiganj) constituency.

Various political parties are participating in the election in Panchagarh, including the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Islami Andolan Bangladesh, Liberal Democratic Party (LDP), Gana Odhikar Parishad, Bangladesh JSD, Bangladesh Supreme Party, Jatiya Ganatantrik Party (JAGPA), Jatiya Nagorik Party, Bangladesh Labor Party, Bangladesh Nationalist Front, Bangladesh Communist Party, Jatiya Party, and independent candidates.

In Panchagarh-1, the candidates who submitted nomination papers are: BNP’s Muhammad Nowshad Zamir, Jatiya Nagorik Party’s Md. Sarjis Alam (11-party alliance), Bangladesh JSD’s Nazmul Haque Pradhan, Gana Odhikar Parishad’s Mahfuzar Rahman, JAGPA’s Al Rashed Pradhan, Bangladesh Labor Party’s Md. Ferdaus Alam, Bangladesh Nationalist Front’s Md. Sirajul Islam, and Bangladesh Supreme Party’s Md. Abdul Wadud Badsha.

For Panchagarh-2 (Boda and Debiganj) constituency, nomination papers were submitted by BNP’s Farhad Hossain Azad, JAGPA’s Al Rashed Pradhan, independent candidate Rahimul Islam Bulbul, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami’s Mohammad Shafiul Alam, Bangladesh Communist Party’s Md. Ashraful Alam, Bangladesh JSD’s Md. Emran Al Amin, Islami Andolan Bangladesh’s Md. Kamrul Hasan Pradhan, independent candidate Mahmud Hasan Sumon, LDP’s Md. Rezaul Islam, Jatiya Party’s Lutfar Rahman Ripon, and Bangladesh Supreme Party’s Md. Delwar Hossain.

Panchagarh Deputy Commissioner and District Returning Officer Kazi Mohammad Sayemuzzaman said that a total of 24 candidates collected nomination papers for the two seats. However, 19 candidates ultimately submitted their papers within the stipulated time.

Expressing optimism, he added that the administration hopes the upcoming parliamentary election in Panchagarh will be held in a peaceful, festive, and joyful environment.
