B Mirror Report : ACC Raids BRB Cable Factory Over Allegations of Revenue Evasion and Sale of Smuggled Copper

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has conducted a raid at the factory of large industrial company BRB Cable Industries Limited in Kushtia over allegations of embezzlement through revenue evasion and the sale of a large quantity of smuggled copper.

On Sunday (December 28), a team from the ACC’s Kushtia Integrated District Office carried out the enforcement drive.

Confirming the matter on Monday, ACC Public Relations Department Assistant Director Tanzir Ahmed said the enforcement operation was conducted at the BRB Cable factory in Kushtia following allegations of revenue evasion and embezzlement through the sale of a significant volume of smuggled copper.

During the raid, the ACC sought documents related to copper purchase accounts from 2021 to 2025, information on the companies from which copper was imported, details of the current copper stock stored in warehouses, and income tax–related documents of the company, among other records.

The ACC team conducted a preliminary review of the documents collected during the operation. The remaining information will be examined thoroughly, after which the team will submit a detailed report to the Commission.
