BSEC Holds Joint Meeting with DSE and CSE Boards

B Mirror Report:  A joint meeting between the boards of directors of Dhaka Stock Exchange PLC (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange PLC (CSE) was organized by the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC).

The meeting took place on Sunday (28 December) at the BSEC building in Agargaon, Dhaka. The information was disclosed in a press release signed by BSEC Director and Spokesperson Md. Abul Kalam.

BSEC Chairman Khondaker Rashed Maqsood, Commissioners Md. Mohsin Chowdhury, Md. Ali Akbar, Md. Saifuddin, along with executive directors, directors, and other senior officials, were present at the meeting. Various important issues were discussed in detail, including the development of the capital market, regulatory supervision, and market expansion.

The meeting with the Chittagong Stock Exchange board began at 10:30 a.m. Participants included Chairman AKM Habibur Rahman, Managing Director M. Saifur Rahman Mazumdar, Directors Professor Dr. Md. Saiful Islam, Mohammad Nasir Uddin Chowdhury, Shahzada Mahmud Chowdhury, Major (Retd.) Emdadul Islam, and Dr. Mahmud Hasan.

Later, at 11:30 a.m., a meeting was held with the board of the Dhaka Stock Exchange. Participants included DSE Chairman Mominul Islam, Managing Director Nuzhat Anwar, Directors Major General (Retd.) Mohammad Kamruzzaman, Brigadier General Md. Mafizul Islam Rashed, Syed Hammadul Karim, Mohammad Ishaq Mia, Syeda Jakerin Bakht Nasir, Richard D. Rozario, Minhaj Mannan Emon, Md. Hanif Bhuiya, and Md. Sazedul Islam.

According to BSEC sources, decisions were taken in both meetings through discussions on formulating effective policies to ensure capital market stability, protect investors’ interests, and promote market expansion.
