IFIC Bank Organizes Day-long Program on ‘Cashless Bangladesh Initiative’ in Jashore

Under the initiative of Bangladesh Bank, and with IFIC Bank PLC as the lead bank, a series of day-long programs were organized in Jeshore to expand the activities of the “Cashless Bangladesh Initiative.” The event was held on Tuesday, 23 December 2025, at the Jeshore Software Technology Park, where Mr. Arif Hossain Khan, Executive Director of Bangladesh Bank, attended as the Chief Guest.

The seminar was presided over by Ms. Rafeza Akhter Kanta, Director of the Payment Systems Department of Bangladesh Bank. Special guests included Mr. Md. Rukunuzzaman, Executive Director, Khulna Office, Bangladesh Bank; Mr. Md. Tawmeed Hasan, Assistant Commissioner and Executive Magistrate, Jeshore, representing the District Administration; and Mr. Syed Mansur Mustafa, Managing Director of IFIC Bank PLC.

The day’s program began with a public awareness rally. Following the rally, a special seminar on the “Cashless Bangladesh Initiative” was held at the auditorium of the Jeshore Software Technology Park. During the seminar, the distinguished guests discussed in detail the objectives, action plans, and various benefits of digital transactions under the Cashless Bangladesh Initiative. A question-and-answer session with participants was also conducted.

Later, practical demonstrations on QR code–based payment systems were provided at the booths of the participating banks. Through this day-long campaign, emphasis was placed on increasing public awareness of digital transactions. Senior officials of IFIC Bank, as the lead bank, along with representatives of other banks and invited guests from various professions, were present at the event.
